About En Gedi Construction

Why “En Gedi” Construction?

God has given us this company name as a symbol for our mission:

Providing every home and business an oasis, one dream at a time.

Everyone has a dream and everyone is in need of an oasis. A place of refuge, a place of  rest, a place of serenity, a place of safety or sanctuary. Whether you need an oasis for customers, staff, family, or yourself, En Gedi Construction is ready to hear your dream and help you make it come alive so that you have a place to rest, recover and restore.

“[T]he place called ‘En Gedi’ in the Bible, is a wonderful oasis setting on the western shore of the Dead Sea. This site is where David made a major overture for peace to King Saul… En Gedi becomes a symbol of a place of both refuge and the setting aside of revenge, a place where peace can be found when good is chosen instead of evil.

After traveling through the desert area that borders the Dead Sea, an area called the Judean Wilderness in the Bible, En Gedi emerges as an oasis with fresh water flowing… En Gedi is an oasis in the midst of the desert, a place with living water that one can drink in the presence of the Dead Sea that is useless for drinking…”

  • Ein Gedi, the place called “En Gedi” in the Bible, is a wonderful oasis setting on the western shore of the Dead Sea. This site is where David made a major overture for peace to King Saul. David was hiding in a cave in En Gedi along with his men who numbered about 600, while King Saul and his army of 3,000 men were hunting for him. As they were in the cave hiding, King Saul came to the setting and Saul stopped to relieve himself in the exact same cave where David was hiding. David, instead of killing Saul as some of his men suggested and even desired, cut off a piece of Saul’s robe. After Saul left the cave, David went out and called out to Saul, letting him know that he was not trying to kill Saul or usurp his throne. The place that could have been the site for David to kill Saul, instead became a place where David and Saul made peace at least for a time. Saul was brought to repentance and said to David with tears: “You are more righteous than I, for you have done what is good to me though I have done what is evil to you" (1 Sam. 24:17). En Gedi becomes a symbol of a place of both refuge and the setting aside of revenge, a place where peace can be found when good is chosen instead of evil.

After traveling through the desert area that borders the Dead Sea, an area called the Judean Wilderness in the Bible, En Gedi emerges as an oasis with fresh water flowing. It has historically been and still is a place of refreshment from the desert dryness and a place to alleviate one’s thirst. Also, several animals dwell there due to the presence of water and plants. En Gedi is an oasis in the midst of the desert, a place with living water that one can drink in the presence of the Dead Sea that is useless for drinking water due to not having any outlet to allow for a flow of the water that is necessary for healthy water.
